Baysox Thanks!
Thanks to Nancy and Vinnie for organizing the Baysox game. It was a lot of fun, but it was strange to drive 30 minutes just to see our next door neighbors!
Joe Alden Memorial Service
With sadness I must inform you that Joe Alden of 604 Kensington succumbed to a very long illness on Monday, June 28th. The family wishes to have a memorial service on Tuesday, August 17th at 11am at St. John’s the Evangelist Church on Ritchie Highway.
Please pass the word to all in the neighborhood. I know the community has the Alden family in it’s thoughts and prayers.
Baysox Game!
Come out to the ball park with your neighbors!
When? The Saturday, July 10th game begins at 6:35 and it’s also fireworks night. For only $11 per person you can watch minor league baseball at Baysox Stadium in Bowie up close and personal (and I believe they are doing much better than the O’s right now.) As a bonus, a marvelous pyrotechnics display is in store after the game. What a better way to draw out your Fourth of July festivities by stringing it along into the next weekend.
Contact Vinnie Maruggi or Nancy Barbieri for tickets. First come; first served. Let’s go out to the ball game!!
Picnic Aftermath
The picnic was a great success with over 50 in attendance. Thanks to all who helped set up (especially to Brent for setting up tables and tents before he had to leave) and those who lent their equipment: the Dearborns for the generator and Vinnie for his pick-up truck. As always, it was hot and muggy, but it was great to see everyone. A huge thank you tothose who stuck around into the wee hours to break down everything and deliver it to it’s proper home.
I think everyone had a great time. I know I did!
