PostHeaderIcon Agenda for May 18th

Our next board meeting will be tomorrow, May 18th, at 7:30pm. On the agenda will be discussion of the upcoming General Meeting to be held in June to propose the annual budget. We need a meeting space, plus a date to notify community members.

We will also discuss the dues drive and how many paid participants we have to date, plus  schedule a time to go door-to-door collecting. The Beach/Boat Ramp area will be talked about with regards to it’s increased use this time of year. The porta potty is in place, but we still need to free up some spaces on the canoe rack for some newcomers who want to use a space.

The upcoming picnic, to solicit volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up, will be briefly mentioned.

PostHeaderIcon Agenda for April 20th

Hello KCAers! This month we will be discussing our rec cleanup/dues drive events that we just completed. We have set the picnic for June 12 and the yard sale is this Saturday the 24th (raindate the 25th).  The contact person for the yard sale is Jacki Macko. In addition, we will be discussing the monument lights up front and their damage from the snowplows on Benfield this winter. Brent is in charge of fixing the light fixtures while the Motsco’s are going to check into the actual electrical receptacles and whether they work or not. Spring brings outdoor work and maintenance/additions to homes in the neighborhood. We’ve been getting applications for the architectural committee to review. The form/app is on the website. In addition, the Porta Potty has been installed for the season, and there is some discussion regarding the canoe rack and if there can be made space available for a newer resident with a canoe. Some families have more than one canoe/kayak down there – hogging spaces that should be made for others. We have to share. Notice while you are down there the new picnic tables and blueberry bushes that Aaron Lippencott make for us to complete his Eagle Scout project (and a hearty congrats for making Eagle, Aaron! What an accomplishment that is.)

PostHeaderIcon SP High School Repairs

The High School is in desperate need of repairs. Here is one way to get our county executives to help us out.

It is well known that Severna Park High School, 50 years old and never renovated, is in deplorable condition.  It has been slated to renovation or replacement for years but has been put off again and again due to the high cost associated with any high school renovation.

PostHeaderIcon Pothole Repair

New Hotline/Email Address to Report Potholes in AA County: County Executive Leopold recently pledged to repair reported potholes within two business days. The County Executive also set up a pothole hotline and email for citizens to  report problems. “This is a public safety issue,” Leopold said. “Pothole control is vital to safe driving. So, report it and we will repair it in two business days or less.” To report a pothole, citizens may call 410-222-7045 or the appropriate road district. Citizens may also email concerns to potholes@aacounty.org.

For more information about potholes and how they are repaired, visit the Pothole Repair webpage at http://www.aacounty.org/DPW/Highways/PotholeRepair.cfm.
